WWDC 2013 May not Reveal what the Rumor Mill Believes
- Updated: June 9, 2013
Everybody thinks they have WWDC 2013 figured out. The rumor mill has solidified it’s forecasts and now, the night before the beginning of Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference, most of the blogs that report on everything Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) are reporting the same information.
Redmond Pie is reporting that John Gruber, one of the most respected technology bloggers, is reporting that his inside sources at Apple are saying that most of the rumors about Apple’s keynote are wrong. Even the modern looking flat design of iOS may not be unveiled Monday.
According to Gruber:
“The one thing I keep hearing over and over again from friends who would know is…the one word I keep hearing is that some of the stuff they’re going to show is “polarizing”.
And I also heard from somebody that just “all the leaks are wrong.”
What does “polarizing” mean? It means that whatever Apple is planning, it won’t have universal appeal. Some will love it while others will hate it. If that’s true, according to Redmond Pie, that’s quite a gamble on Apple’s part.
The updated version of OSX still looks to be true as does the Mac line that will receive some performance tweaks under the hood.
WWDC 2013 kicks off Monday with the Apple keynote taking place at 1:00 p.m. EST.
Disclosure: At the time of this writing, Tim Parker was long Apple.
