Massachusetts Trial and Appellate Courts Select Tyler Technologies for E-Filing Program

Tyler Technologies (NYSE: TYL) e-filing service, Odyssey File & Serve, is now part of Massachusetts judiciary’s plan to implement technology solutions to modernize court operations (see the full press release). The electronic pilot includes six-court filing systems and will lead the expansion into other state trial courts.

Massachusetts Trial Court Administrator Harry Spence said of the system, “We believe that technology, including e-filing, will ultimately lead to rapid and dramatic improvement in court operations and efficiency with which we serve our judicial community and residents.”

The Odyssey File & Serve system currently handles over 4 million filings for more than 100,000 users across the nation.  After successful deployment of Tyler’s e-filing infrastructure, the Texas Supreme Court mandated e-filing for civil matters in December 2012.

“Nationally, electronic filing and the move to digitized court documents have allowed courts to improve service to their constituents while also increasing efficiency,” said Bruce Graham, president of Tyler’s Courts and Justice Division.

Tyler Technologies is a $2.5 billion company specializing in empowering public sector clients including local governments to be more efficient and responsive to citizen’s needs through its information management solutions and services.  The company has 2,500 employees and is headquartered in Plano, Texas.
