Herbalife Continues Higher After Icahn Comments (HLF)

Shares of Herbalife (NYSE: HLF) are up nearly 4 percent in early trading Tuesday presumably on continued follow through from Carl Icahn’s comments last week at a CNBC conference.

It was Wednesday of last week that Icahn sat on stage at CNBC’s Delivering Alpha conference and laid out his thesis of why he was long Herbalife. Not only was it to bring down Bill Ackman but he had some convincing fundamental arguments as well.

Investors obviously bought in. Since Icahn’s comments, the stock rallied 6 percent Monday and is up 20 percent in the last six trading days. For 2013, the stock is up 80 percent.
